38 Weeks

Pregnancy: 38 Weeks!  Sorry, didn't get a chance to post yesterday. Didn't have the baby yet he/she is still kicking! BUT- we have 2 more weeks!!!  At this point.. i am just waiting.....

Weight Gain:  up 1 more pounds as of yesterday- total weight gain 29 pounds.  (and i can't stop eating!)

Next appointment:   Next week at 39 weeks.  Wed. 10/3 at 9:30am.

Sleep: Sleep is not so cute anymore. I am finally feeling BIG.  Turning from side to side hurts every muscle in my body.  My back aches just lying there.  But don't get me wrong, i am still sleeping- it's just getting harder. And when i get up to go to the bathroom (all night long)  It takes a while for my hips to balance this heavy weight i am carrying, as to not fall over!

Gender:  I honestly cannot wait to find out!  I know it's exciting to have a baby, but not knowing the sex has made the labor and delivery part- not so scary in my mind, because i CAN'T WAIT TO FIND OUT if this baby is going to be a boy or girl.  And i honestly don't care either way.. HONESTLY.  Just want a healthy baby.

Names:  BUT.  If it were a girl, that would be cool- since that's the name we have picked out!! ;)

Feeling/ Symptoms:  At my appointment yesterday i got talked into the flu shot. I feel good with my decision- although I am a hypochondriac so now every sniffle i think i have the flu!  I think i'll be ok though..  Staying positive.  Feeling good besides that, just real BIG. moving hurts.

Movement:  Still lots of movement.  At midwife appt. yesterday - she was all poking around on my belly and baby kicked her!  That's my baby!

Belly:  I measured at 37 weeks this week at 38 weeks.  So she said next week it should start getting smaller as baby drops.  but i feel huge! Finally.. haven't felt too big this entire pregnancy but now.... now i am huge.

Maternity Clothes:  feel pretty proud that i only bought one skirt this entire pregnancy. Thank you to all my momma friends that let me borrow their clothes! OH! and this past weekend i did buy nursing tanks and bras from Target.

Stretch Marks: I'm coming to terms with them.- BUT found more on the lower part of my belly...  guess what... putting on lotion every day does not work.  If you were meant to get them, you will get them...  (just left the same stuff from last week).. there is nothing i can do.

Best Moment Last Week:  going to Buy Buy Baby and Target to get the rest of the stuff i needed.  And baking! In the past few weeks i have baked this and these  both were awesome and completely fulfilling my sweet tooth that this baby has given me.  Tonight i am going to trader joes on the look out for their amazing pumpkin bread mix... mmmm...... (i hope its there!) . best moments.. food.  yep!  OH! and we put the car seat in, and i started packing my hospital bag.....

Nursery:  Nursery is all done!  Here is the link to seem some pictures from my phone of the room.  click HERE

What I Miss:  Still miss sleeping, even though i am sleeping. I am scared of not sleeping.  I love you sleep!

Looking forward to:  finding out when i will be going into labor. and my last week of work!  Last day: 10/5.  That's if i don't have the baby by then. My mom is 100% sure the baby is coming on 10/5.  Andrew and Hayley  are saying 10/9, my co worker is saying 10/17.  - i am mad at her. haha!  We shall see....

What the professionals are saying:

How your baby's growing:

Your baby has really plumped up. She weighs about 6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). She has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold her hand for the first time! Her organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If she's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If she's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after she's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Baby is the size of what fruit/ Vegetable?  a leek?  But i read somewhere else- Watermelon, so that's the picture i'll post.

Baby Chobot's Room

Here are some photos of the final outcome of Baby Chobot's room!
Few notes about the room...

We did not paint the walls, they were already that color when we moved in- so since we rent we are just keeping it that blue color.

And i took all these photos with my phone, so they aren't the best quality.  Also, this room is pretty small and narrow so it's a little hard to get good angles.

We will start out with the paintings that Andrew did.  They turned out exactly like i wanted them!  I love the colors that he picked out all by himself. I ended up sticking with that color scheme.  Hope baby likes his/her little room!!

Beginning of the birds...

3 of the panels

Artist at work

Final- close up.

Framed on the wall

Me, standing in the door way.  The hangy lanterns  are from Party City.
Another angle, Book shelf, dresser, changing pad on top

Book shelf. Please note baby chobot's 3d photo framed in the 2nd cubby hole. ;)  Bought those canvas drawers were i stored all the baby STUFF we have received so far.  Been nice for storage in such a small room

The wall above the crib-  Bird Decals were from Joanne Fabric. Looks a little empty over there, but that's it for now

Baby's stuffed animals and musical mobile thingy

More animals, little red guy on the left - from Aunty Adair!  Sleeping Sheep i heard was good, so i bought it,  Panda- i LOVE pandas, i had one growing up and this baby will too, Sock Monkey from Aunty Margo and Aunty Heather. Thanks Friends!

Old picture i've posted before but this is the other end of the room- Curtain is from target it's heat resistant and completely blocks out the sun.

That's it!  I can't believe how quickly this room transformed, and i am so happy we got it done so early. Now we wait..... TWO MORE WEEKS!!!!

37 Weeks!

Pregnancy: 37 weeks!  This baby is full term folks!!!  So now... we wait.  Will he/she be early? Will he/she be late?  Welp, i'll keep you posted!  3 more weeks till due date.

Weight Gain:  up 2 more pounds as of yesterday- total weight gain 28 pounds.  (and i can't stop eating!)

Next appointment:   Next week at 38 weeks, Thurs. 9/27 at 12:30pm.

Sleep: -I realized that most of my dreams are taking place at my parents house in Dallas.  I think it's my subconscious taking me back to my youth, since I am about to have a baby and soon i'll be a real grown up!  Last night in my dream, my dad was offering me a beer, lots and lots of good fancy beers in Dallas.  haha.  Sleep is good.  Dreams are funny.

Gender: we shall see

Names:   Girls first name set- middle name... maybe...  Boys name:We have progress people!  I think we have narrowed it down to maybe like 3 or 4.... i am hoping for a girl, just for the name alone.

Feeling/ Symptoms: Feeling good. Cold is on the way out and pretty much gone-it took a good week to kick that one.  booo..At my appointment yesterday i found out that i tested positive for the Group Beta Strep test, which of course had me worrying, but i guess it's pretty common and i'll have to get antibiotics during labor as to not pass it on to the baby.  I'm also deciding if I should get the flu shot at my next appointment.  Opinions?  I've never gotten it before and i've never gotten the flu.  Thanks to those i've already talked to!

Movement:  There's not a lot of room left in there, the movements are getting pretty dramatic.. I have to re-adjust my sitting position when the baby moves. i like poking him./ her and sometimes i feel like i am high fiving his/her little leg.

Belly:  I measured at 36 weeks again this week.  Midwife said that i'll start measuring smaller as the baby starts drop.....  i still feel big, but not huge.  It's been nice- still totally bearable.

Maternity Clothes:  I think i wore my non maternity yoga pants every day this week.  Dont tell.

Stretch Marks: I'm coming to terms with them.- BUT found more on the lower part of my belly...  guess what... putting on lotion every day does not work.  If you were meant to get them, you will get them...

Best Moment Last Week:  Last week was a baby filled extravaganza!!  We had our Lamaze class AND Toured the hospital. I saw where i'll be giving birth, the room, the hospital the parking situation, the drop off.  it's real now.  The Lamaze class was great, I learned a lot about breathing during labor and i feel good about it.  And, Andrew will be a great coach!  He is calm and collected and remembers the breathing better than i do. Now we wait....And my lady friends came over to my house last night to see the baby's room, it was real fun!! :)

Nursery:  Nursery is all done!  Paintings done.  Everything done.  I'll do a photo post on this later.
What I Miss:  I miss sleeping.  I am sleeping well now, but i am already missing it for when i can't do it anymore.  I have 2 more weekends to sleep in.  (TEAR).  that scares me more than giving birth.  And apparently (as seen in my dreams) I am still missing BEER.

Looking forward to:   The Emmy's on Sunday!  Seeing my dear friend Erika on Sunday for brunch in the suburbs and hitting up the baby stores one last time before the baby comes. possibly my second to last week of work next week?  EEEEP!

What the professionals are saying:

How your baby's growing:

Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.)
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Baby is the size of what fruit/ Vegetable?  Stalk of Swiss Chard

36 Weeks

Pregnancy: 36 Weeks.... FOUR MORE WEEKS TO GO....... next week, this pregnancy will be FULL TERM.

Weight Gain: Went to see my Midwife yesterday, and no weight gain!  Woot!  Still up a total of 26 pounds.  high five!

Next appointment:   I start going every week now, it's the final countdown folks!  Next appt is:  Wed. 9/19 at 11am.

Sleep: - I should change this to DREAMS.  oh goodness, my dreams are nuts.  And pretty scary.  So yeah, very vivid scary dreams, still waking up nightly to go potty.  And i have a cold!  So lots of tossing and turning.. booo..

Gender: we shall see

Names:   Girls first name set- middle name... maybe...  Boys name: STILL nothing

Feeling/ Symptoms: I got my first sickness in 9 months, a cold!  it is not fun being pregnant and sick, since you can't take anything.  I have been drinking lots of fluids, and making my favorite soup.  But i am over it- it's been 3 days now.  Baby is real heavy, making it harder to walk.

Movement:  Still lots of movement, Andrew finally really felt the baby move the other day.  As apposed to little jabs and kicks like before- now it's like rolling movements in my belly.  Not a lot a room for little no named baby to move around in there anymore.

Belly:  I realize now, that It's getting bigger. (i haven't really felt HUGE).  My midwife measured me, and i am measuring right on time, 36 weeks, but she said i have a really long torso, so I prob. don't look as big as others that are the same weeks as me...  i never knew i had a long torso.  Wide hips, yes.  Long torso- news to me.

Maternity Clothes:  Today i am not wearing one stitch of maternity clothes.  I have on my Thursday picture tank top, and some yoga pants (not maternity) and a sweater over all of it... I like that i can still wear some of my old stuff.  and It's fall today outside!  Good thing, I'll give birth before winter- zipping up this belly into a coat is a whole other story, and not a cute one.

Stretch Marks: I'm coming to terms with them.

Best Moment Last Week:  Nothing too exciting, this week is CREEPIN' by.  And i got a cold so that wasn't cool, and had a nightmare.... hmmm... can't think of my best moment.  Maybe finding the tv show Revenge on Netflix and starting that.  Next is Downton Abbey!  can't wait.

Nursery:  Trying to get Andrew to finish the bird paintings this weekend so i can have my lady friends over next week for a girls night at my house before the baby comes and so they can see Baby Chobot's room!  Hurry Andrew!!!

What I Miss:  At this point, i miss- sleeping on my stomach, breathing, not having bloody noses, sushi, wine, beer, strong coffee drinks, walking with no pain....  that's good for now.

Looking forward to:   Lamaze class this weekend!  Sat. & Sun from 9am- 3pm.  I think Andrew is nervous, but i am excited to take a class. I think I'll feel like I'm in a movie, i hope he sits be hind me and we breathe real dramatically.  That's what you do in those classes right?  And looking forward to having my lady friends over to my house! I should probably invite them...oh, and GLEE TONIGHT!

What the professionals are saying:

Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds  and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of her first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.)
Baby is the size of what fruit/ Vegetable?  Crenshaw Melon

35 Weeks

Pregnancy: 35 weeks today!  Officially 5 more weeks to go. Which is one month and one week.  OMG

Weight Gain:  I have been trying to lay off the sweets recently, but we had our girls trip and ate like half a wedding cake, then it was Andrew's birthday and we had cupcakes and cake then an actor we represented dropped of cookies at work.. DAMN YOU SWEETS.

Next appointment:   Next appt. will be at 36 weeks- Scheduled for 9/12 at 8:15am

Sleep: Got up the other night for my 3am potty break and I think i had my first Braxton - Hicks contraction.  Not sure, regardless it hurt!  But, been sleeping a lot and having lots of crazy dreams (see my TV update regarding Game of Thrones)... birthing baby dragons.. uh huh.

Gender: we shall see

Names:   Girls first name set- middle name... nope.  Boys name: nope.

Feeling/ Symptoms:  Feeling good, but this baby is really getting big! and the movements are starting to get uncomfortable, but again... keep em coming! just feels a little weird.

Movement:  See above.  Lots of movements in a little space... and it's only gonna get smaller (the space not the baby)

Belly:  Just poking right out in front, my co worker who takes my weekly photos said today she thinks it might be a boy because of the way i am carrying. hmmm..

Maternity Clothes:   I wear the same shit every week. I refuse to buy more clothes. Time to start living on my budget!
Stretch Marks:  UGH.

Best Moment Last Week: Last weekend was really fun, we had our 5th annual girls trip! I took like 2 pictures or else i would have made a whole post about it.  But it was really great, we sat around, talked, ate, drank, watched scary movies, and i got to swap all kinds of preggers stories with my preggo pal Adair, and learn all sorts of things from the one's with kiddos already.  it was a great weekend! oh! And my sister in law gave me her breast pump. that was awesome.

Nursery:    Still waiting on those birds.... haha. Andrew's a busy guy.  But!  Andrew's mom took all of the baby's clothes to her house to wash them for free in her washer and dyrer (since we dont have that)..She returned them all- folded and seperated by month. OMG. she's is awesome.  I kept them in their little satchels and put them in a drawer.  Here's the proof:
all my little clothes, in zip lock bags labeled with the months.
then, since i was getting all nesty- i organized the diapers...

Top drawer, Diapers and wipes.  Newborns, and Size 1s

What I Miss:  I'm back to missing drinking and sushi. Girls Trip was fun, don't get me wrong- but i did miss getting drunk with my homies. But they are real funny gals. I laughed at lot while they drank. ;) right adair!?!?  xoxo

Looking forward to:   I had a prenatal massage scheduled for this weekend, but I cancelled it.  We really need to buckle down on saving money, and we have to go to the laundry mat on Saturday, we are washing ALL of the sheets, blankets, throws, towels everything in our house basically.  It's time.  The nesting is in full effect.  I guess looking forward to my next appointment and my Lamaze Class next week.

What the professionals are saying:

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds. Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same.

Baby is the size of what fruit/ Vegetable?  honeydew melon
